Auto Plans by Level

Generates coordinated plan, 3D, elevation and section views across selected Revit levels, with templates, scope boxes, scaling, naming and optional sheet creation.

Auto Plans by Level conceptual interface

Overview

Auto Plans by Level is a Revit documentation automation add-in for creating coordinated GA views and sheets across selected project levels. Users can generate Floor Plans, Reflected Ceiling Plans, Structural Plans, Area Plans, Floor Finish Plans, Waterproofing Plans, level-based 3D views, four exterior elevations, and longitudinal or traverse sections. Each output type can use its own sheet prefix, view prefix, view template, discipline and scale. The generator also supports scope boxes, area schemes, title blocks, custom naming conventions, drawing-area offsets, configurable 3D cut heights, view-only or sheet-creation modes, duplicate skipping, progress feedback and saved settings for repeatable project workflows.

Key features

  • Generate documentation across multiple selected Revit levels in one run.
  • Create Floor Plan, Reflected Ceiling Plan, Structural Plan, Area Plan, Floor Finish Plan and Waterproofing Plan views.
  • Create a level-based isometric 3D view with a controlled section box.
  • Generate four exterior elevations per selected level: North, South, East and West.
  • Generate one Longitudinal Section and one Traverse Section per selected level.
  • Use a separate sheet prefix and view prefix for each output type.
  • Assign a separate Revit view template to each output type.
  • Assign Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Coordination or no discipline per output type.
  • Select an Area Scheme for generated Area Plans.
  • Apply a selected Scope Box to supported generated views.
  • Use Auto Scale or a fixed scale independently for each output type.
  • Select a title block and create sheets, or run in View Only mode.
  • Control usable sheet drawing area with Top, Bottom, Left and Right offsets.
  • Configure 3D cut height above and cut depth below each selected level.
  • Use configurable view and sheet naming conventions with per-prefix sheet numbering.
  • Skip existing views and sheets or create unique names and numbers when required.
  • Show progress during generation and a completion summary with created and skipped items.
  • Auto-save level selections and generator settings to JSON for repeat use.
  • Automatically open the last created sheet or view after generation.

Currently under development and controlled testing. Generated view extents, scope-box behavior, exterior elevations, building sections, scales and sheet placements should be reviewed before formal project issue. Exterior elevation and section extents may fall back to the active view crop or calculated model extents when no Scope Box is selected.
